May 2018 –
Croft Additive Manufacturing (CAM) has launched a new industry workshop to support those wanting to find out more about metal 3D printing and its benefits.
Attendees will be given a detailed introduction to the fundamentals of metal additive manufacturing (AM) as well as a chance to get ‘hands-on’ with the
production process, from initial concept stage through to the finishing of components.
CAM will be delivering its workshop from the company’s Warrington headquarters, within its metal additive manufacturing production facility. Company directors – Neil Burns MBA and Louise Geekie PhD – will run the course, sharing expert advice on how 3D printing technology can benefit businesses within a range of sectors.
Louise Geekie, project director, commented: “Additive manufacturing has the potential to revolutionise how products and machines are designed and built. But with so much information out there, it can be disconcerting for anyone who wants to find out how they can use the technology themselves.
“Our new course will offer a jargon-free, non-academic introduction to the design and manufacturing processes that will be accessible to those with even the most basic understanding of the technology.”
Neil Burns, director, CAM, added: “Croft was an early adopter of additive manufacturing technology and having amassed a considerable amount of expertise, it’s now time to spill the beans and help other businesses realise its potential. This technology is the future of industry, and we want to help introduce as many people as possible to it.”
“This course will give anyone that works in industry and keen enthusiasts a thorough grasp of how 3D printing could revolutionise their processes.”
