A raw material is something which is used or
something that is acted upon by human labour or industry. Raw material is used
as building material and needed to build or create a structure or product. The
term raw material is often used when referring to any material which is found in
nature and is usually unprocessed or in a minimally processed state, such as
wood/logs, crude oil and iron ore etc. In some industries the term raw materials
is used in a distinct sense and known as a subject of labour, something that has
previously been worked on, in other words it doesn’t apply to materials in their
unprocessed form. Examples are steel and glass.
