Beryllium Copper

Beryllium copper is a metal alloy and also known as copper beryllium or beryllium bronze. Beryllium copper is an metal alloy of 0.5 - 3% beryllium and copper, and quite often may contain other alloys, and has significant metalworking qualities. Beryllium copper is a versatile alloy, it is weldable, ductile and machinable, and it is also resistant to non oxidizing acids. By the process of heat treatment, beryllium copper can be made more durable, which increases its strength and electrical conductivity. There are many uses for beryllium copper, and these will include springs, load cells, and various other parts that must retain their form, when they are put under repeatable stress and strain. Beryllium copper is non-sparking and is used safely where there are gases or explosive vapours. Beryllium copper tools are more expensive than steel tools, but the advantages outweigh the disadvantages when used in hazardous conditions.
