Access control gates are normally automated and
remain permanently locked. The level of
security determines how the gates operate. Access control gates can be operated
by various means, such as, audio intercom, digital code entry pads, hand held transmitters,
swipe cards and proximity
readers. The security level required and the purpose of the gate
will decide which access method is most suitable. Access control gates are normal of a metal
constructions but can also be made of wood. Wrought iron is a popular choice as is steel.
Powder coated access gates offer excellent resistance to corrosion and wear.
Access control gates can be used for commercial, industrial or residential
purposes where security is required. An Access control system coupled with an
automated gate can reduce the need for a gate warden or allow one warden to
monitor several gates from a remote location. Access gate control can also be
coupled with security alarms to raise and alert should the gate be opened
without authorisation.
