Angel Vehicle Hire is based in Portsmouth and provide delivery and collection of wheelchair accessible vehicles and adapted cars to clients nationwide.

You can hire our vehicles on a daily, weekly, or longer-term basis. Our long-term hire is particularly useful for those who do not want to purchase their own vehicle, perhaps due to illness or the financial implications, allowing customers to off-hire the vehicle when it is no longer required.

We also provide full maintenance contracts for wheelchair accessible vehicle hire and adapted car hire, which include road fund licence, all maintenance, servicing and tyres. Non maintenance contracts can also be arranged, and this is sometimes suitable for small fleet operators with NHS or local authority contracts.

Our small WAVs, such as our Fiat Doblo�s or Peugeot Partners, typically hold up to 3 passengers as well as 1 wheelchair passenger. Our medium WAVs, such as our Peugeot Experts, can hold up to 5 passengers and 1 wheelchair. Our larger WAVs are ideal for taking more than 1 wheelchair passenger (up to 4) and offer up to 5 seats for passengers.

We have adapted cars fitted with Jeff Gosling fixed push pull hand controls, Lodgesons Bluetooth enabled controls and left foot accelerators if required.

Push/Pull Hand Controls
Our cars are supplied with permanently fitted Jeff Gosling push/pull hand controls which operate the brake and accelerator with ease of use in mind. These controls are much better and safer to use than temporary hand controls which you may come across.

Lodgesons Bluetooth Remote Controls
The Bluetooth controls prove especially useful to persons driving one handily, the steering aid is equipped with a fingertip control switch box which rotates with the steering ball. This system is supplied with a release mechanism allowing the controls to be taken off the steering wheel quickly and easily.

Using the Jeff Gosling Twin Folding Left Foot Accelerator
This adaptation provides an accelerator pedal to either the right of the brake pedal (as usual) or to the left of the brake pedal. The left foot accelerator consists of two hinged pedals connected by a cable. It will have been set up in such a way as to ensure it is only possible to have one of the pedals down at any time. To deploy the required pedal simply pull it down into position and the other pedal will flip up out of the way.
