Halcyon Drives Ltd commenced trading in 1991 as an ABB Inverter Drives Distributor and has developed the business to present day with a turnover in excess £5 million and employing over 30 staff. The company has developed into an electrical engineering company supplying control, drive and safety solutions to the manufacturing industry direct to end users and offering our expertise to original equipment manufacturers.

Halcyon Drives are a founder member of the ABB Drives Alliance & HVAC Partners network, which offers the most comprehensive variable speed drives network in the UK. We have a wide range of expertise in application, programming, repairing installation and commissioning of inverter and servo drives.
Being one of ABB’s leading drives distributors, the range of ACS55, ACS150, ACS350, ACS550, ACH 550 and ACS800 are stocked from 0.18kW to 250kW. We are conversant with most other Inverter Drives and have a wide experience with Servo Drive Applications, DC Drive Systems and Power Transmission Geared Motor needs.

Halcyon Drives are a member of ABB’s “MSP” (Motor Service Partner) network, one of 14 companies based throughout the UK dedicated in supplying and servicing ABB Electric Induction Motors, Servo motors & Flameproof, Explosion Proof and Dust Ignition Proof Motors. With Stocks held locally of up to 45kW capacity, Halcyon Drives can offer an efficient local service on Variable Speed Drives, bare shaft motors and geared motors.

We offer a comprehensive range of motors for both Gas & Dust Areas complying with the new ATEX DIRECTIVES.

Datasensor are a leading company in the production & sales of optoelectronic devices for detection, safety, measurement & inspection for industrial automation.

Halcyon Drives Safety & Sensor Division offer the extensive Datasensor range of Photoelectric Products including Universal Sensors, which are able to satisfy the most varied of application requirements. This range benefits from both Transistorised and Relay outputs. Compact, miniature and tubular sensors offer the basic through beam, polarised retro-reflex, polarised retro-reflex for transparent, diffused, fixed focus and background or foreground suppression
models.

To support our comprehensive stocked range of ABB Drives, Halcyon Drives have an extensive selection of Drive Units available for hire. Most of the systems available come mounted on wheels for easy manoeuvrability. The range extends up t0o 400kW and we can offer the complete package of hire, installation and commissioning.
These drives can be hired as a temporary solution for breakdowns, or for short periods to evaluate the benefits of Energy Saving Inverter Control on your own existing equipment and machinery.
