LED LIGHT EMITTING
DIODE ARRAYS |
|
APT offers LEDs from Opto Diode Corporation, Lumex, Inc. and The Fox
Group Inc. - all leaders in their own particular field:-
Opto Diode Corporation:
ODC
are based near Loa Angeles and have 30 years experience as a
vertically integrated LED Light Emitting Diode Arrays manufacturer with in-house semiconductor
growth, wafer processing, packaging and test facilities. They became
part of Illinois Tool Works (ITW) in August 2008, so have the
financial strength of a group with around 700 companies and total
sales in the region of $16 billion.
ODC’s product range covers ultraviolet to near infrared in a wide
variety of formats from single-chip TO package to extremely high
power “Multi Reflector Arrays” (MRAs).
MRA technology combines low thermal resistance substrates,
leading-edge chip technology and high optical efficiency
beam-shaping reflectors. The latest MRAs use 1mm power chips to
produce extremely high power devices with world-leading brightness
and efficiency.
ODC’s engineering capability and manufacturing flexibility give them
a unique capability to develop cost-effective customised LED
solutions and APT’s 20 year relationship means we are well-placed to
discuss applications and provide guidance on how ODC can help
customers meet their objectives.
Lumex, Inc:
Lumex
are based in Chicago, USA and are also part of ITW. They offer a
huge range of surface mount and thru-hole LEDs, from UV to NIR.
Lumex’s SMT product range extends from tiny 0206 packages through to
their “TitanBrite” 5W white LEDs. Their “OctoLED” technology
combines the optical performance of 5mm moulded LEDs with a unique
SMT package.
Thru-hole parts from 3mm to 12mm diameter are available along with a
wide range of mechanical choices such as triangular and rectangular
designs. Lumex also offers Alphanumeric LED Light Emitting Diode
Arrays; LED
backlights; Lightpipes and an extensive range of Liquid Crystal
Displays (LCDs).
The Fox Group, Inc:
Fox have UVA LED technology at 350 to 365nm. Their proprietary HVPE
manufacturing process results in extremely accurate wavelength
control resulting in a peak wavelength specification of ±1nm and
also yields LEDs with very narrow spectral width of only 10nm FWHM.
Fox offer their LEDs in a variety of SMT, moulded thru-hole and
TO-style metal packages. |

SENSORS & DETECTORS |
|
APT are Silicon Detectors and
photodiode suppliers, from Opto Diode
Corporation and SensL Technologies Limited.
Opto Diode Corporation:
ODC’s silicon photodiode wafer fabrication is believed to be the
only North American facility capable of processing 6” wafers and is
supported by state-of-the-art photolithographic equipment.
ODC produce a range of standard silicon photodiodes from 1mm² to
42mm² active area in UV, visible and NIR-enhanced formats.
They have worked with many world-leading equipment manufacturers in
the medical, military, scientific instrumentation, aerospace, space
and industrial markets to provide bespoke single-element and
multi-pixel photodiode solutions.

ODC also supply a range of standard hybrid photodiode-preamplifier
assemblies and can optimise these to meet the requirements of each
application.
Finally ODC’s range of narrowband Silicon Detectors detectors at 470nm, 525nm, 660nm
and 880nm offer system designers the opportunity to eliminate the
cost and bulk of optical filters from their system.
SensL Technologies:
SensL are at the forefront of a new technology which is rapidly
displacing conventional vacuum PMTs in a wide range of low light
applications. Their Silicon Photo Multiplier (SPM) technology
combines the benefits of solid state technology (spectral range,
immunity to magnetic fields, ruggedness) with the sensitivity of a
PMT.
SensL’s SPM technology is used in many direct photon detection
applications and is also making significant inroads into
scintillator-based applications such as medical imaging, high energy
physics and radiation detection.

SPM components are offered from 1mm diameter to 6x6mm in a range of
ceramic, TO-style and ceramic packages. Also available are complete
SPMMini modules designed to get a user up-and-running in matter of
minutes. These modules combine the cooled SPM, power supply, cooler
controller and preamplifier with optional C-Mount and optical fibre
coupler.
For imaging applications SensL offer 16-element arrays in a 4x4
configuration which are designed for 3-side and 4-sided tiling - and
there is also a complete 256-channel SPM system supplied with power
supply, preamplifiers and XY cross-wire readout. [IMAGE SPMArray4

SensL also offer Photon Counting Detector (PCD) modules with cooled
PCD, power supply, cooler controller, high speed preamplifier and
timing electronics with active quenching of the Geiger Mode
avalanche and a USB communications board providing easy integration
with PCs running the provided SensL Integrated Environment (SIE)
software. |
