Based in Hertfordshire with easy access to both the A1 and M1
motorways, GSL operate throughout London, Bedfordshire,
Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire and can also offer
a national service for specialised works and to the UK rail
industry.

GSL offers our clients a specialised service which is second to
none, and has seen successfully completed contracts across a wide
range of fields, ranging from new build and refurbishment projects
to both residential and commercial properties to other areas such as
temporary shelters, viaducts, aqueducts, confined spaces, crash
decks, cradles, and retaining structures.
Over the past ten years GSL has also expanded its services for the
UK Rail and Underground industry and have been established members
of Link-up for several years. With good working relationships with
the likes of Network Rail and LUL we can offer a tailored scaffold
service with an active and thoroughly trained staff imbued with the
experience of working within the rail infrastructure at both
management and operative levels.
GSL on the BBC
Viewers of the recent BBC 'English Heritage' series would no doubt
have noticed that featuring prominently on the Kings Cross edition
was our very own scaffolding works carried out on the footbridge and
famous 'Harry Potter' clock. GSL were contracted to erect a scaffold
to allow the dismantling of the bridge whilst the station remained
working. Our team of seven operatives worked between the hours of
1:30am-4:00am erecting the scaffold which had been specifically
designed by our design team underneath the existing bridge enabling
the breaking out the concrete to the base of the bridge. The bridge
was lifted out by crane onto trains and then all was cleared from
site. As was made clear on the program, the works were a great
success and finished ahead of schedule.
Training:
Of course a successful company is made so from several areas and GSL
is proud of its team which has come about through a mixture of our
investment in key training and the use of operatives who have
reached qualification to the highest standards. Our trained
operatives are backed by qualified supervisors and a management team
which has experienced every aspect of the construction industry
throughout the past 40 years. An example of some of the
qualifications our staff hold includes: CSCS / CITB Scaffolding /
CITB Supervision & Management / NEBOSH / PTS / LUL / Confined Spaces
/ Various Access scaffolding / Various hoists, cradles & machinery /
Various safety, harness & PPE training/
Safety:
One of the most important aspects in construction today is safety
which obviously affects not just our own staff but that of our
clients and the wider general public as well. This is a key example
of how GSL’s commitment to continual improvement can reap benefits
for all involved as our in-house safety team works alongside the
very best external safety advisors to keep our finger on the ever
changing and increasing impact of safety on our industry. GSL are
pleased to boast a safety record which is second to none in our
industry which is largely due to our embracing of new safety
procedures where we have often found ourselves ahead of any incoming
requirements or regulations.
