Rapid PU Foam Parts

have developed a low cost solution for rapid polyurethane moulding and can take
a typical part from CAD model to foam moulding parts in around 5 to 7 days. Rapid
parts can include inserts and can also be dual hardness if required.
One area that has benefited from rapid PU moulding is the development of
Automotive seating.
Within
the automotive seating area our rapid prototype moulding process was primarily
developed as a cost effective alternative to milled foams for early design
evaluation and development requirements, but is increasingly being used beyond
these stages and additionally, also for low volume production projects and
service part requirements. Where the requirement for the number of parts is
greater we are also able to offer foam component supply based on competitively
priced GRP and aluminium tooling types.
The rapid process is currently utilised to support the supply of high quality
development build foams for several of the prestige 'UK' brands.
Integral Skin PU Foam Moulding
Integral
skin foam moulding gives you a component with a tough and flexible skin moulded
over a soft foam core, this type of Rigid foam moulding is ideal for many different
applications including handles and grab-bars, steering wheels, armrests,
headrests, seats, gearshift knobs, toys, decorative trim and furniture
components. Integral skin PU moulding foam has a moulded, tear-resistant outer
skin that is flexible. This skin is formed during the moulding process and
protects a micro cellular foam core which can have predefined hardness.
Integral skin parts can be colour matched to your requirements with in mould
painting, the mould tooling can also be chemically etched with various patterns
to give texturing or graphics on the skin surface giving the appearance for
example of a leather effect cover, inserts can be also moulded into the integral
skin parts.
