Atkin Automation Ltd
was formed in 2004 following a management buyout of
two companies – W T Atkin Ltd and Atkin BHP Ltd, two
of the most famous names in the Servo Roll Feed & Coil
Processing
Industry. Atkin Automation now specialises in three
distinct areas: firstly steel coil processing and
handling equipment, secondly automated press feed
lines, cut to length lines and punch, notch and
rollform lines and thirdly bespoke special purpose
equipment like Press Feed Equipment. If you have a process involving movement
and steel we can design a machine to help you do it
better!

Our coil handling and processing equipment ranges
from lightweight coils of 250kgs up to the full
25,000 kgs coils and in widths of strip up to
2000mm. We design and produce the full range of
standard equipment including coil cars, single and
double sided coilholders, both motorised and
un-motorised, snubbers and thread up equipment,
recoilers, levellers including multi-roll and servo
roll feeds. Our standard servo roll feeds can work
to accuracies of 0.1mm and speeds of up to 300spm.
Specials can be produced for higher speeds and pitch
rates including 180spm at a 1 metre pitch for the
canning industry. We supply a full range of
ancillaries and spares including strip lubricators,
scrap choppers, loop control devices and refurbished
equipment.
Our coil processing equipment forms the basis of our
production lines used to produce cut to length
blanks, press feed equipment, punched, notched
components and complete roll forming lines. By using
multi pitching software written by ourselves and
gagged tools enormous production flexibility is
possible. Our equipment is working in a huge
selection of industries including steel
stockholders, white goods, press workers, cable
tray, shelving & racking, automotive, construction
components and transformer core production.
We specialise in bespoke special purpose equipment.
If you have a metal material that you want to move,
bend, cut, stack, punch, notch, align or emboss
speak to us. Atkin Automation also has a track
record of successful integration of several
different types of equipment within one line. We
supply lines incorporating, for example, lasers,
automatic welding, turnover units and automatic
stacking systems. We often invent a solution to a
manufacturing problem by working closely with
clients to achieve a cost effective answer with good
payback times.
Atkin Automation is a small company with a worldwide
reputation. Our machines can be found working in
every continent and can be supported either by our
service engineers or our local service partners. For
more details on our products and services please
