European Antennas Ltd specialise in the design and development of high gain, printed circuit arrays, ultra wide-band directional antennas, multi-octave bicones and high gain collinear omni-directional antennas. We have a large catalogue of antenna designs and undertake specialist development projects.

The frequency spectrum is typically from 250MHz up to 40GHz.

Communication industry awareness and expertise in antenna physics combine to provide a close working partnership with our customers. From initial concept to finished production, our design and development service provides cost-effective and technically focused solutions.

Contract developments or licensed designs can be undertaken for integration into radio units.

European Antennas was founded in 1991 by our managing director, Brian Phillips and is now part of the Cobham Antennas Division of Cobham plc.

Engineering

Our key resource is our highly skilled and experienced engineering and technical support team. With years of experience and knowledge in the design and development of antennas, they will provide antenna solutions to meet specific requirements.

CST Microwave Studio(r) and other software is used to assist in the modelling of antenna designs prior to construction, to enhance accuracy and speed the development cycle. Our on-site spherical near field test facility ensures antenna developments meet their quoted specification, with full radiation data available.

These solutions can be achieved through one of three ways:

1 Standard Product Range

European Antennas has more than 1500 designs available. We can assist in the selection of the right standard product for your application.

2 Product Modification

If a standard product does not meet your exact specification and there is a need for an adjustment such as connector, a flying lead, or slight frequency retune we can advise on the technical viability of making cost effective changes.

3 New Product Design

We provide a full antenna design and development service. Our engineering team will work directly with customers’ technical teams to develop an antenna solution. Modelling software enables us to predict the performance of an antenna at an early stage of development to confirm its specification and establish how its mounting location may be effected by its environment.

Our engineering workshops allows for the efficient production of antenna prototypes that can be tested in our near field anechoic test chamber and provides radiation pattern data to substantiate the design and specification. It is European Antennas’ normal practice to manufacture a prototype as part of any antenna development programme.
