A little more about Static Safe Environments Ltd (SSE)

Established in 1983, Static Safe Environments has become the preeminent supplier of products and services in the field of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) like ESD Benches and ESD Flooring.

Electrostatic Discharge can permanently damage or degrade sensitive electronic components which may lead to catastrophic failures of substantial pieces of equipment or devices.

ESD Flooring

SSE provides full ESD flooring specification, installation, testing and certification service and sources ESD floor coverings that comply with the most stringent standards for electrostatic control.

SSE’s Neostat RX Static Rubber Flooring System has an impressive history of installations in electronic establishments and is widely regarded by many ESD professionals as the most effective dissipative flooring available.

Neostat RX floors control body voltage to less than 10V, have superior heat and chemical resistance than vinyl, are hard wearing, have low maintenance costs and do not produce acidic fumes or dioxins when exposed to flame. When installed and maintained in accordance with the SSE specification Neostat RX flooring is guaranteed for 10 years for both electrostatic and mechanical performance.

ESD Benches, Chairs and Bench Accessories

Static Safe Environments manufactures a range of ESD benches designed specifically for the electronics industry. These ESD benches can be assembled in any size or configuration and are made from silver-anodised aluminium extrusions.

In addition, SSE is able to offer traditional mild steel ESD benches in a range of shapes and sizes. All SSE work benches are available with a choice of dissipative work surfaces in a variety of colours. Benches can be supplied with accessories including shelf units, monitor mounts, computer cradles, drawer units and a combination of electrical trunking modules. To go with the benches, a selection of ESD operator and task chairs is available in colours, designs and styles to meet all requirements.

Conductive Boxes, Shelving, Trolleys and Shielding Bags

SSE supplies a huge selection of conductive containers and boxes with a comprehensive assortment of accessories for the safe storage, handling and transportation of static sensitive assemblies.

A range of conductive shelves and trolleys is available in a variety of configurations which are ideal for storing and transporting components whether in conductive boxes or shielding bags. We offer metallised shielding bags from stock which provide excellent protection for static sensitive components with the contents being shielded from electrostatic discharge.

ESD Hand Tools

SSE introduced ESD hand tools, for the first time, in 2009. The tools have been carefully chosen for their quality, functionality and practicality.

There are ESD screwdrivers with fixed blades, reversible and interchangeable blades and even screwdrivers with adjustable torque settings.

ESD pliers come in sizes and styles to suit every conceivable electronics application. A special feature of the pliers is their distinctive black and yellow handles which are 100% dissipative. With 15 types of tweezers to choose from, delicate and intricate tasks are made straightforward.

ESD Test Instruments

Having established protection against electrostatic discharge, it is very important to regularly check, test and monitor the equipment and facilities put in place to make sure they all meet the required standards.
