Established in 1956, Microform Imaging Ltd, is
one of the longest running bureaux in the industry - we have a wealth of
experience in providing a full range of micrographic and document management
services. We offer one of the most comprehensive document scanning, drawing
scanning, microfilm scanning and microfilming service in the UK and provide a
full bureau service for all types of digitisation and microfilming needs
including document scanning from small receipts to large format drawings, 16mm,
35mm and microfiche filming and scanning.
Secure on-line web repository, print back to paper or full film duplication
services are available. Microfilms are still produced by the company as the
archival aspect, a 500 year life expectancy, of this medium is extremely
attractive to many of our customers especially when used as a backup for digital
images.
Our in house courier service can reliably provide secure collections and
deliveries.
Document Scanning
Is produced on a spectacularly high-volume scanner and represents a significant
investment for the company.
The equipment regularly attains speeds of in excess of 15,000 images per hour
plus can supply up to 10 different file outputs from one scan on-the-fly. With
capture speeds of this level, extremely competitive prices and fast turnaround
times benefit all our customers. Taking advantage of this productivity we can
also convert digital images to microfilm for long term storage.
All images can be supplied in a suitable format:
· With our own search, retrieve and viewer software (completely free of charge)
with all images and free from licensing costs on standalone PCs and networked
PCs.
· To allow direct download onto a server or into a database. 
· To allow integration into a EDM (Electronic Document Management System).
· Given as straight forward image files (for viewing and searching within
Windows Explorer).
· Given in PDF format for viewing with Adobe Reader.
· Full indexing with multiple fields and keywords set up to individual
specifications.
Microfilm and microfiche Scanning
Using the unquestionably superb quality Sunrise film and fiche scanner range,
renown throughout for excellent analogue to digital reproduction, we can scan
any type of microfilm and any type of microfiche with precision, accuracy and
speed. In this role we have scanned for Local Authorities (planning
applications) national newspapers to go on-line and banks and public utilities
to name a few who have taken advantage of our enviable range of services.
Microfilming services
We are proud to still offer this form of archiving to the library and commercial
clients who have a high dependency on being able to read analogue images now and
in the long term future. This ‘obsolescent’ proof format is ideal for customers
who are not in great need of the functionality of the digital image as on a
computer but do have the responsibility of ensuring archive integrity now and in
the future. Libraries, Insurance Companies, Engineering Drawing offices,
Mortgage suppliers and many others still fall into this category.
