The directors of GCT
have a combined experience longer than any other personnel currently
working in this specialized industry and this translates into cost
effective and imaginative ideas to assist customers in achieving
their production goals.
By combining in-depth experience with machinery supplied by dynamic,
world class companies, Global Cutting Technologies has rapidly
expanded to be the dominant force in the UK cutting market today.
A wide range of cutting systems to suit every requirement and budget
is in place which extend from top-end systems for fully automatic
cutting lines with the use of minimum labour to the ‘Nova’ range
which has new machines at second hand prices – these are swing arm
cutting presses, travelling head cutting presses, fixed beam cutting
presses. Of course, second hand machines of all types are also
usually available.

Water
Jet Cutting Machines
Without doubt, these continue to be
most buoyant area within the machine tool area with an increasing number of
companies wanting to enter this market.
The benefits of water jet cutting machine technology have been well documented
and are well known – no tooling costs, versatile, ideal for full production use
as well as rapid response short runs and prototyping, no secondary finishing, no
heat affected zones and no noxious fumes.
As with all potential purchases, the price point is so important and GCT have
set out to provide a range of machines which are genuinely, competitively priced
at an all-in figure and no add-ons except for installation.
On top of this, GCT hold a huge inventory of spare parts and have fully trained
technicians, conveniently located in the Midlands.
GTC believe that this is the water jet cutting machine range that industry has
been waiting for!

Global Cutting Technologies main areas of activity are:-

Die Cutting Machinery–
All types
The generic process of die
cutting runs through most of the machine ranges offered by Global
Cutting Technologies.
The term “die cutting” is loosely
applied to many types of cutting process but is mainly relevant to
the cutting out of shapes from soft or semi-rigid materials in
single or multiple layers.
There are many machine models,
styles and types related to die cutting Machinery and these
include:-
-
Swing arm cutting
presses - for sheet materials and small to medium sized
patterns.
-
Travelling head
cutting presses - for sheet and roll fed materials and small to
medium sized patterns.
-
Fixed beam (fixed
head) cutting presses - mainly for sheet materials and all sizes
of patterns including large or multiple shapes.
-
Receding head cutting
presses - the most versatile of die cutting presses. Suitable
for all sizes of cutting patterns, roll or sheet fed material.
-
High speed kiss
cutting presses - to produce high volumes of through cut or kiss
cut components. Cut pieces can be rewound on their original
carrier paper and the scrap waste taken away to another station.
The greatest growth area
is, currently, in the requirement for fully automated die cutting
machinery complete with automatic feed systems, parts knock-out and
scrap removal. These enable customers to become more competitive in
this ‘cost down’ environment.
Rotary die cutting machines,
also offered by Global Cutting Technologies, are a different
approach to providing cutting solutions, incorporating even higher
volume but with such advanced features as automatic tension control
via load cells and camera inspection of finished components to
ensure high quality, consistent results.

Allied to die cutting presses, is a comprehensive range of strip
cutting, log slitting and guillotining machines which extend from
simple strip cutters up to programmable log slitters and automatic
guillotines and sheeters. Coupled with the kiss cutting presses,
these machines are widely used throughout the gasket, foam and
adhesive tape industries.
Where applications demand short
run, proto-typing as well as full production runs, CNC knife cutting
or water jet cutting machines can be the answer.
The
boundaries between CNC knife cutting and water jet cutting machines
have become somewhat blurred of late but both are versatile and
effective.
In particular, water jet cutting has, for some
years, been the fastest expanding sector of the machine tool
industry. Even so, there are more potential customers out there who
would buy a water jet cutting machines if the price was lower than
the perceived market level. Global Cutting Technologies ‘Nova’ range
of cutting machines addresses this final hurdle to bring water jet
cutting at an incredibly low price to more manufacturers than ever
before.
Of late, CNC knife cutting tables, usually with an
oscillating knife or blade, have developed enormously and can now
cut many materials hitherto thought impossible for this type of
equipment. Rolls as well as sheets can be processed and even hard
materials such as gasket grades can be cut. Sophisticated nesting
software and vision systems enable unskilled operators to quickly
achieve high quality results whilst minimizing material usage.
With so many years of experience, Global Cutting Technologies are
confident that they have a machine size or type in varying cutting
media to suit virtually every application, material, size of company
and degree of automation.
Be it manual, semi or fully automatic :–
Flat bed die
cutting or rotary die cutting, Strip cutting, log slitting or
guillotining, Water jet cutting or CNC knife cutting
Global
Cutting Technologies supply it all – AND – provide the best and most
respected after sales service in the industry.
As part of GCT''s
expansion program, new purpose built premises have now been acquired
and the move completed. This will allow the ramping up of new
machine stocks and demonstration facilities whilst the creation of a
new, contract die cutting division will provide a true ''one stop
shop'' for GCT clients.
