At Convert Ltd we only use State
of the art equipment and modern machinery:
WIRE PROCESSING MACHINES
At Convert we use Komax and Artos machines to process a large selection of cable
and wire ranging from single-stranded/single-core cables through to
multi-stranded/multi-cored cables. The fully automated Artos MTX machine
provides high volume production of processed cable; twisted, tinned, crimped,
cut and stripped, and all to a consistently high quality. The processed cable
can then be assembled into bespoke Cable Looms and Cable Harnesses. The Artos MTX allows
us to provide an extremely efficient service. It includes crimp force analysers
that monitor all the crimping forces used for each terminal applied. Should it
detect any defects in the crimping process they are automatically removed from
the cable to prevent any problems later in the manufacturing process. This
ensures that we get it right first time every time.
 SEMI-AUTOMATIC
PRESSES
We use Mecal and Takbro presses on wires that can not be pressed automatically.
This applies pre-insulated, un-insulated and ferrule/bootlace terminals. Covert
have an extensive collection of applicator tooling that can be used with a range
of connector styles and terminals. We also hold Molex, Takbro, JST, ITT and Tyco
for prototyping and small volume requirements.
IDT TOOLING AND PRESSES/ RIBBON AND IDC
To cater for MDR, IDC, IDT connectors Convert have many presses within the
equipment range. All Ribbon cable is processed with our series 4 cutter which
enables us to provide a straight clean cut with consistent length.
